Alpha Phi was named OCU’s Most Philanthropic Organization and prides itself on our philanthropic hearts and dedication to service. The majority of the chapter’s efforts are focused on the fight against heart disease, the #1 killer of women. Funds raised specifically support the Alpha Phi Foundation which strives to improve women's heart health while also supporting sisters in need and educating about the value of philanthropy. Alpha Phis are proud hosts of the following philanthropic endeavors and supportive partners to all campus fundraisers.
Red Dress Gala
The chapter hosts an annual gala each fall raising funds for women’s heart health. The event features a Red Dress fashion show, heartfelt testimonies from sisters impacted by the Alpha Phi Foundation, engaging fundraisers such as Heads or Tails, and tons of raffle baskets.
Alpha Phi’s work to raise funds for the Alpha Phi Foundation by hosting several highly-anticipated events open to the campus. These include “Move Your Phi’t” Dance-a-thon to encourage heart healthy activity, the King of Hearts man pageant, and karaoke nights at the chapter house.
Alpha Phi’s take heart health seriously and are committed to becoming well-educated leaders in the community and on OCU’s campus. Each year, new and returning sisters are equipped with the life-saving skills of Hands-Only CPR, as part of our Take Heart Take Part Initiative. The chapter house is also equipped with an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) which is available for public use in the case of cardiac emergency.
